It's such a surreal experience and an honor to say I've graduated from my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. Although it's the end of the set curriculum, it's really just the beginning of my true training. I'm eager to start teaching outside of my peer group, and I'm grateful for the opportunities that have already risen for me to do so.
I'd like to first recognize my teacher and mentor Denaya Dailey. It's been a blessing to work with her, as I've been able to learn much more than yoga, anatomy, and history. I learned tenacity, courage, and confidence from her as well - traits I already identified in myself, but ones which she elevated even further by demonstrating it in her daily life. She has also been a major source of encouragement for me by allowing the opportunities to reconnect with my passion of dance, truly liberating my spirit. She has a very intoxicating energy and compassionate soul, and her selflessness is inspirational. It's been a privilege to have completed my training under her guidance. Thank you as well to Robin Jaffe, my TA for the program. The little reminders to breathe in stressful times were always appreciated. Additional kudos to all the fellow yogis in the community, including Pete Guinosso, Jason Crandell, Erin Lila Wilson Singh, Mackenzie Studebaker, Corey Rubin, who came and shared their wisdom in sequencing workshops, assisting guidance, business application, teaching to kids/teens, and more. You all enriched my training experience in such a meaningful way. I plan on repaying your efforts by paying it forward to the community through my teaching. Now for a running joke among some of my classmates.. "In the words of Elle Woods, 'We did it!'"
